Dictated But Not Read

I usually try not to wax poetic, but today I do have to issue a shameless plug.

There is an awesome little free iPhone/iPad app called Dragon Dictation. It allows you to dictate to your iPhone, and it transcribes automatically your speech into text.

From there, you can take your text and paste it into an e-mail, SMS, or copy it to the iPhone’s clipboard for use another application.

It’s amazing how accurate this software is on transcribing what you say. However, it does have a few quirks. For starters, it doesn’t like profanity. Additionally, you are limited to 60 seconds of dictation before you must submit, but then you can continue recording indefinitely in 60 second intervals.

All in all, it’s a wonderful app and free to boot. You can’t beat the price! So, head on over to the App Store (http://bsprks.com/9i), download it, and take it for a whirl yourself.

This post was dictated using Dragon Dictation on my iPhone. Aside from making a few stylistic changes, I did not change much at all. The app was wonderfully (scary, really) accurate.
